What We Do

We develop the ground everything else depends on.

Whether the goal is reclaiming acreage, preparing a homesite, improving access, building a pond or preparing a commercial site, the work begins with understanding the property and what the owner ultimately wants it to become.

01

Land Clearing

Acreage, homesites, ranch and recreational property, road corridors, subdivisions and commercial sites. Clearing decided around access, drainage and what the property becomes next.

02

Earthwork & Excavation

Excavation, cut and fill, site shaping and earthmoving that turns difficult terrain into ground you can build on, drive on and use.

03

Grading & Drainage

Moving dirt is only part of the job. Where the water goes afterward plays a major role in whether the work holds up. Site grading, swales, drainage shaping and correcting problem grades.

04

Pond Construction

A well-planned pond becomes one of the defining features of a property. Excavation, earthwork and shaping approached as part of the wider landscape.

05

Roads & Access

Private roads, rural property access, construction access and driveways, including road-base preparation, grading and drainage considerations.

06

Site Preparation

Preparing the ground for what comes next: clearing, excavation, grading, drainage, access and building-site work for residential and commercial projects.

07

Building & House Pads

The quality of a finished structure begins with the ground beneath it. Pad preparation, shaping and compaction done to suit the build that follows.

08

Commercial Earthwork

Licensed commercial earthwork, drainage and levee work under Louisiana CL.04592 — site clearing, excavation, grading, drainage and site access for developers, owners and general contractors.

Secondary work R6 performs, including shoreline repair, bulkheads and retaining walls, is covered under Discuss Your Property.

The Sequence

From property potential to property you can use.

These stages are connected. Clearing decisions affect drainage. Drainage affects access. Access affects where a pad or pond can go. R6 handles the sequence rather than isolated equipment tasks.

Our Philosophy

The R6 Standard

Built for the property. Built for the purpose. Built to last.

Understand the Property

Terrain, existing conditions, access, drainage and intended use all matter. The property tells you how the work should be approached.

Understand the Goal

A homesite, a ranch, a hunting property, a pond or a commercial development each carry different priorities.

Plan for the Finished Result

The objective is not merely completing today's equipment work. It is preparing the property for what comes next.

Execute With Purpose

Quality, efficiency and attention to the finished function of the property are what create long-term value.

Our Work

See what the work looks like when it's done right.

Real R6 projects. Each of these will expand into a full case study — conditions, scope, approach and finished result — as project details and photography are added.

Comparing Proposals

Before you compare the price, compare the work.

Two proposals for the same property can represent very different scopes, methods and finished results. Clearing, drainage, grading, access, materials, debris handling, site conditions and contractor qualifications all influence what you're actually buying.

The lowest number on an estimate doesn't necessarily represent the lowest long-term cost. Quality groundwork can reduce rework, improve functionality and protect the investment you're making in the property.

Price deserves consideration. It just shouldn't be the only thing you compare.

Questions worth asking before you hire

  • Is the contractor properly licensed for the work being proposed?
  • Is the contractor properly insured?
  • What exactly is included in the scope?
  • How will trees, stumps and debris be handled?
  • Is final grading included?
  • How will drainage be considered?
  • How will access to the property be handled?
  • What materials are included?
  • How will unsuitable soils or unexpected site conditions be addressed?
  • What condition will the property be left in?
  • Has the contractor completed comparable projects?
  • Can the contractor show evidence of previous work and customer satisfaction?

This crew worked my small sloped pie shaped lot into a a well draining house pad and yard with room for porches and RV shed. He had a very difficult job getting all our requests into such an awkward lot but he did it with a vision and patience. He gave honest advice on what I could have for what money. The lot came out perfectly and is the solid foundation for my home. Very trustworthy!

My wife and I hired R6 Construction to remove some trees, install a retaining wall, and build the foundation for our new shop. Riggs built a very heavy duty wall, prepped the ground well, brought in some really good dirt, and built my foundation solid as a rock. Him and his crew prepped everything and lined the concrete up for the concrete crew, then afterwards added a rock driveway down the side of the shop, re-graded the area in front of my shop, used the dirt to build a firepit area, then rocked the front area with high end stone. He also re-graded the terraces in our front yard, and an access road.

I was looking for someone to remove an old shed and build a level foundation for my new building. I found R6 Construction on Google and called Brenton of R6. Brenton came to the property to see what I had in mind. He said that he could do it and gave a quote (very reasonable) and the work began. Communication between Brenton and me was excellent. He is easy to get in touch with. Completely professional. I will be using R6 Construction o. my future projects.

Questions

What property owners ask us.

Is R6 Construction licensed in Louisiana?

Yes. R6 Construction, LLC holds Louisiana Residential Contractor License RL.04594 and Louisiana Commercial Contractor License CL.04592 for Earthwork, Drainage & Levees. Both can be verified through the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors.

What should I compare when getting land clearing or earthwork estimates?

Compare the scope, not only the number. Ask how trees, stumps and debris are handled, whether final grading is included, how drainage and access are addressed, what materials are included, how unsuitable soils or unexpected site conditions are handled, what condition the property will be left in, and whether the contractor is licensed and insured for the work being proposed.

Does R6 clear large-acreage properties?

Yes. Land clearing is one of R6's flagship services, including acreage clearing for homesites, ranch, hunting and recreational property, residential development and commercial sites.

Does R6 build ponds?

Yes. R6 performs pond construction and excavation as part of overall property development — excavation, earthwork, shaping and integrating the pond with the surrounding property.

Can R6 prepare property for a home or building?

Yes. R6 performs site preparation and building and house pad preparation — clearing, excavation, grading, drainage and access work that prepares the ground for construction.

Does R6 perform commercial earthwork?

Yes. R6 holds Louisiana Commercial Contractor License CL.04592 for Earthwork, Drainage & Levees, covering commercial clearing, earthwork, grading, drainage and site preparation within that classification.

What information should I provide when requesting an estimate?

The project location, approximate property or project size, what you intend to use the property for, the work you have in mind, photos if you have them, and your desired timeframe.

Why can contractor estimates vary so much?

Two proposals for the same property can represent very different scopes, methods and finished results. Clearing extent, site conditions, drainage, grading, access, materials, debris handling, finish work and contractor qualifications all affect both the price and the finished property.

How do I verify a Louisiana contractor's license?

Through the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors. We'd encourage it — for us and for anyone else bidding your project.
